About the Organisers

The Law Commission of India, in conjunction with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Government of India and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat, are organising this one-day National Conference on Artificial Intelligence on 24 February 2024.

About the Conference

This conference aims to dissect the regulatory landscape surrounding Artificial Intelligence (AI) with 2 technical sessions and gather experts from academia, industry, government, and civil society. With AI poised to revolutionize various sectors, the conference underscores the collective resolve to ensure responsible AI deployment aligned with societal values and legal principles.

The conference is designed for attendance by Research Scholars, Academicians, Experts, Lawyers, Corporate Delegates, Industry Experts, Policy Makers and Students from all disciplines.

Organising Members of the Conference

Key Organising Members of the Conference are:-

  • Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Hon’ble Chairperson, Law Commission of India,
  • Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology & Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship,
  • (Dr.) Archana Mishra, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat; and
  • (Dr.) Ashutosh, Conference Director and Dean of Academic Affairs & HOD at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat.

Paper Submission

The conference also aims to invite paper submissions, with selected papers to be published as book chapters. The focus of the conference will be on the following two core sub-themes :-

1) Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on Legal Functioning.

2) Legal And Ethical Issues with Artificial Intelligence.

Submissions are welcome on any topic falling under the theme and the subthemes of the conference and may also explore perspectives on the linkages of:-

  • Ethics and Responsible AI
  • AI and Human Rights
  • AI and Sustainable Development
  • AI and Constitutional Perspectives
  • AI and Intellectual Property Rights
  • Governance of AI and Privacy

The aforementioned themes are indicative and not exhaustive.

Abstracts and papers are to be mailed to ai.conference2024@dbranlu.ac.in

Registration is compulsory to participate in the conference. There is no Registration Fee for the conference. Participants are required to fill in their details on a Google Form.
