About the Aman & Sonam Associates and Company

Aman & Sonam Associates and Company, established by two advocates, aims to provide practical knowledge to aspiring and current law students. Recognizing the technical challenges they faced in their early careers, the founders launched this initiative to equip future lawyers with the necessary skills to overcome similar obstacles.

Founded in Telangana in 2022, Aman & Sonam Associates and Company is an online organization. In addition to offering practical guidance, they handle cases in the areas of taxation, criminal law, trademark law, and cyber law. The company actively promotes legal education by organizing online competitions such as essay writing, article writing, quiz competitions, drafting competitions, and case analysis exercises.

About the Competition

We warmly invite you to submit your essay entries on the theme of “The Current Legal Landscape.” This broad theme encompasses several suggestive sub-themes designed to stimulate innovative ideas and insightful analysis. These sub-themes are as follows:

  • The proper scope of judicial review
  • The international criminal court and its effectiveness
  • The legal and ethical implications of affirmative action
  • Impact of new criminal laws with Positive and Negative Side
  • The future of legal practice in the age of automation
  • The boundaries of free speech in the digital age
  • The legal rights of undocumented immigrants
  • The ethics of legal representation
  • The legal and ethical implications of global pandemics

Eligibility

To ensure wider reach and opportunity, the Competition will be open to all – including students (of all streams) Specially for Law Background, academics, professionals, government officials, members of consumer forum, Voluntary Consumer Organizations (VCOs)/ NGOs etc.

Submission details

  1. The essay must be written in English and submitted in Microsoft Word document format (.doc/.docx).
  2. Each essay must be submitted by a single author only. No co-authorship is permitted.
  3. Only single submission is allowed per author.
  4. The following formatting specifications need to be strictly adhered to: Main Body: Font – Times New Roman, Font Size – 12, and Line Spacing – 1.5; Footnotes: Font – Times New Roman, Font Size – 10, and Line Spacing – 1.0; Margins should be 1 inch or 2.54 cm on all sides; justified alignment.
  5. The word limit is 1500 – 2500 words excluding footnotes. Footnotes must follow the Bluebook format of citation (Harvard, 20th edition).

  1. The essay must be accompanied by a separate document containing the following:

(i) full details of the participant i.e. name, institution affiliation, phone number, email ID etc ;

(ii) theme/topic chosen;

(iii) file should be in Doc/Pdf format

  1. All submissions are subject to plagiarism check. A maximum of 15% similarity to existing publications is permissible in submitted works (excluding citations).

The Board reserves the right to summarily reject or return the submission to the author without feedback for non-compliance with these guidelines. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Board shall be final and binding.

The opinions/thoughts/ideas or any view of the author expressed and published on the article are respective views of the authors. The Centre or the Board shall not be held responsible or accountable for the opinion expressed by the author of the essay. The Centre reserves the right to defer or terminate the competition without notice, in case suitable/quality entries are not received in the competition or of any other event outside our reasonable control.
