About the Conference
The Animal Law Study Club at UPES Dehradun is thrilled to announce the 1st National Conference on Animal Law as a part and parcel of the flagship legal fest “Vidhi Utsav”, taking place virtually on April 5th, 2024. We envision this to be a stupendous event and believe collaborating with you would be an essential step towards that goal.
This conference embodies the spirit of advocacy for animal welfare, bringing together diverse perspectives to explore the symbiotic relationship between law and compassion. Through discussions, insights, and research, the conference aims to foster awareness and inspire action. In our interconnected world, the need for animal welfare and laws is paramount. Establishing comprehensive animal welfare laws is crucial for ensuring their well-being, preventing abuse, and preserving biodiversity.
About Call For Papers
Original unpublished Research papers/Articles and Case studies are invited from academicians/research scholars/advocates and students for presentation at the Conference. The authors of shortlisted abstracts will be provided with an email/google form for full paper submission.
The papers will be selected after a plagiarism check, the permissible limit being 10% of a Turnitin report. The abstract and full paper will undergo a Blind peer review process by the expert review committee before selection. The selected papers are to be presented in the conference and will be published as conference proceedings with ISBN.
Eligibility
The Paper Presentation is open to undergraduate/postgraduate students, Research Scholars, Academicians, Professionals, and NGOs. Any interested persons may also attend the Conference, without manuscript submission.

Formatting Guidelines of the Manuscript
- Every Submission should have the abstract attached to it. The abstract should not exceed 500 words including 3 – 5 keywords.
- The submission should include a “separate” cover page document that clearly indicates the name(s) of the author(s), complete mailing address(s), telephone number(s), and email address(s).
- The text of the full paper and abstract must include the title of the paper, but must not include the name(s) of the author(s), as the papers will be anonymously reviewed.
- Citations should strictly conform to the rules in The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st edition).
- The abstract should be by 5th March 2024 in Word File.
- Co-authorship is allowed only up to two authors.
- The abstract and the full paper should be typed in Times New Roman, with 1.5 line spacing and font size 12 (title font size 14).
- The footnotes shall be typed in Times New Roman with 1-line spacing and font size 10.
- All submitted articles will be double-blind peer-reviewed and only 10 percent plagiarism is allowed.
- Only original unpublished work is sought. Any proposal submitted to present identical or substantially similar work already published or under review for any other publication will not be considered.
Submission Guidelines
- The Editorial Board will follow a transparent and anonymous Peer-Review policy for evaluating the submissions.
- The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject any paper on the condition that it does not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third parties and that the work does not contain any obscene, offensive, defamatory, or racially prejudiced material and whose content is offensive or defamatory, explicitly unethical or if it supports racism, sexual or religious discrimination, illegal activities or terrorism; similarly, an article may be refused if the Editorial Board deems that it might harm the political or religious sentiments of interested readers in any manner.
- The Editorial Board reserves the right to disqualify the paper on account of plagiarism.
- The research paper should not infringe the copyright or any other right of a third party, if so, the Animal Law Study Club disclaims any responsibility for copyright violation or any other liability.
- The research paper shall be considered the property of the Animal Law Study Club which reserves the right of publication of the same in any book or in any other manner as it may deem appropriate, without providing any royalty or compensation.
- The editorial board reserves the right to vary, repeal, or alter any of the rules, if as required, as it deems appropriate.
- The Final Manuscript must be uploaded by 30th March 2024, 11.59 PM.
Prizes
- Cash Prize of Rs. 5000 and Trophies for Best Manuscript.
- Cash Prize of Rs. 5000 and Trophies for Best Presenter.
- The shortlisted manuscripts will be published as conference proceedings with ISBN Numbers.
- E- Certificates will be issued to all presenters and participants.
